The Lab is a place of experimentation and creation for everyone.

The Lab (a.k.a. The Springville Center for the Arts Laboratory of Social Aesthetics) is an art studio at 67 E. Main Street in Springville.  It serves as the home base for a growing roster of artists. 

The Artists

Max Collins

Max Collins is an acclaimed photographer and wheatpaste artist. He is best known for creating artworks and installations by wheat-pasting images onto various materials and objects.

Alisia Glasier

Alisia Glasier is an oil painter and muralist. She has installed numerous murals across Western New York and instructed people of all ages in the arts.

Springville Center for the Arts: Springville Center for the Arts is a rural multi-arts center that actively engages people from our community, our region, and beyond through performances, exhibitions, education and other arts programs. As a catalyst for creative inspiration and development, Springville Center for the Arts encourages direct participation in the arts by all segments of our community. Our mission is to build a culture of appreciation for the arts in our area, transforming the surrounding rural communities. Our main facility serves as the hub for a wide range of programming including concerts, theater productions, gallery exhibits, workshops for all ages, internship and residency programs, children’s after-school and summer programs, and more.

 

Art’s Cafe: A collapsed building, rescued by a group of passionate citizens—this is the home of Art’s Café. Three floors, steeped in history, feature an artisan bakery and café, with a connected arts workshop, performance venue, fully accessible green roof, and artist residences. Art’s Café is about good, simple food – fresh produce grown by farmers we know and bread baked in the simplest of ways with the best possible ingredients.
